Netflix & Chill? We’ve Got You Covered

We know–you usually use the phrase “Netflix & Chill” jokingly. Like, when you’re talking about how in 2015, binge watching Netflix series is considered a date. Or how your love interest has such creative date ideas, like laying in a bed staring at a laptop. Let’s not and say we did.

But for the times when you actually end up watching The Office for the entirety of a Sunday, we’ve got you covered. This fall we have some of the best, cozy, yet stylish pieces from some of our favorite brands.

Let’s start with Wildfox, the brand that consistently creates clothing with clever phrases that explain our lives. Take their soft grey pajama pieces below. We love the central theme of wine and adorable Italian catch phrases. All the pieces are part of the Fall 2015 Italia collection from Wildfox!

It’s only funny, because it’s true.

For colder fall evenings, or for the girl who loves a true pajamas set. Classics are classics for a reason.

What’s a day of lounging without the classic: sweatpants and sweatshirts. Joie and Splendid offer insanely soft pieces that you will never want to take off. Which will probably lead to you watching more Netflix in bed. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, right?

3 Fall Date Night Looks

Date night doesn’t always have to be a dressed down occaison. Sure, movies, ordering in, or “Netflix and Chill” can be great go-tos, but sometimes we need a night out. Here are three of our favorite fall outfits for a classed up date night.

For a preppy, feminine look, turn to Alice and Olivia. This black and white striped dress is seasonless and great for future graduation parties, birthdays, or group dinners. The red suede heels add a pop of color, while elongating the leg with a pointed toe. Accessorize minimally, as to let the dress’ pattern and and the Rebecca Minkoff love bag‘s texture pop.

If you’re  looking for an edgier date night looks (one that goes from dinner to drinks…then maybe even more drinks…to somehow ending up at a club) This is your best option. This cold shoulder Rebecca Taylor dress also keeps you covered during the colder fall months with long sleeves and scoop neck. Grab the Rebecca Minkoff Leo clutch with zipper trim in a vibrant fuchsia to hold your phone and lipstick. Finish with a pair of Raye’s studded heels to subtly play on a glam rock look.

For a girl who isn’t quite “girly” or isn’t quite an urban rocker, this last look is for you. With a laid back, figure flattering ease, this outfit will be great for a more casual date night. Take this Joie silk cami with eyelet detailing tucked into the butterfly hem cut A.L.C. skirt and Joie’s Rexanne strappy suede heels.

Sister Store Style

Written by Alyssa Fazio, Manager at Bounce Boutique.

Nothing is greater than the love for our sister – store that is! Located across from Jet Black is our urban chic sister store, Bounce Boutique. Bounce style has a contemporary flare that is more street inspired and carries brands such as Free People, Vintage Havana, and RD Style.

With all of the buzz of NYFW still in the air, several local designers and boutiques have come together to create a fashion week right here on the streets of Armory Square, the heart of downtown Syracuse. The opening night of the Syracuse Style was comprised of local salons for all of the hair and makeup needs, local restaurants for cocktails and appetizers, and stunning models that strutted the top looks from 20 local boutiques.

There was decades of inspiration all over the runway with all of the different fashions and beauty looks – below are some of our flashback inspired looks:

Fringe is one trend that is not being left behind with last season. Lydia (left) wearing an all suede camel colored jacket trimmed in fringe makes for a 70’s bohemian chic look with matching hair and makeup. The Spice Girls were the inspiration for Jackie’s look (center) with the baby pink feather vest and crimped braided pony to complete this super cute 90’s look. Liza (right) channeling her inner Farrah Fawcett with this gorgeous hairstyle, wears this bell sleeved boho top paired with a printed floor length kimono. What a total babe.

The rest of our models wore contemporary looks that have been hitting the runways.  The trends sported were crop tops, cool cutouts, mixing textures, and bold lips. Checkout the rest of our models looks & some action shots of the runway show for more fall inspo!

NYFW Jet Black Style

If you’ve been on any social media over the past week, you definitely read about the designer lines of New York Fashion Week. While Spring/Summer is far from the Syracusian’s mind (hello, -20 wind chill coming our way) it is an excellent foreshadowing of what trends are next. We’ve compiled our favorite trend looks from the upcoming season, paired with pieces currently in our fall inventory. That way you can get NYFW trends before they even hit the masses.

We love this west coast, tie dyed underpinning from BCBG MAXAZRIA’s most recent Spring/Summer 2016 collection. The mixing of prints may be a bit daring, but what is true fashion if you never push the boundaries? Try out tie dye with this Splendid shirt dress in a cool blue color.

Black and white silks, lace, and draped fluid fabrics were huge at Givenchy’s recent Spring/Summer runway show. Below, Kendall Jenner wears one of our favorite looks from the show.

Try our Theory Alizay tank for a simpler, yet still fluid, 100% silk take on the Givenchy look above. With a banded waist and ivory color, this is the best option for getting a runway inspired look.

Onto the dreamy, romantic Valentino Spring/Summer 2016 collection. With well-seasoned design team, Valentino is known for feminine pieces, with a whimsical, yet refined take. Below is one of our favorite gowns from the collection. It’s full of striking floral embroidery and is sure to be included in an editorial piece in upcoming magazines.

Embrace Valentino’s floral goddess with this A.L.C. Iggy top. Perfect for a day to night look: throw a blazer over for the office, then grab a  pair with black heels and lose the blazer for a night time look.

With Fashion Week underway in New York City, what better way to get model off duty style with a Kendall Jenner inspired look. In just three pieces, Kendall’s outfit exudes ease of style with an edge. It’s the perfect transitional outfit from day to night. For a more day appropriate look, we suggest a pair of Vince Nelson slip ons. Then transition to a thigh height heeled bootie for a more  night time look.

Mackage is known for their leather products that embody of-the-moment trends, but created in timeless, classic pieces. This jacket resembles Jenner’s cool look and would be the perfect addition to your ever-growing wardrobe.

This Ella Moss printed dress keeps to Jenner’s original green frock, but adds a fun  leaf print. Given its light weight fabric, the dress will act a great transitional piece between seasons.

Thigh high boots are everywhere this season. They add an instant cool and sexy vibe to any outfit. We love the soft suede texture of this particular Joie Jemina pair. Though the material isn’t as edgy and harsh as Jenner’s black leather pair, the Jemina boot offers the same great look with a soft texture.

Instaworthy Street Style

IMG_2581Instaworthy clothing is big for fall. Think about it: when you buy a cool, new piece you want to show off your style to your friends and followers. Clothing is an extension of your personality, so what better way to express yourself and kill it in the ‘likes’ than share it on Instagram. We decided to take this fall trend and show our street style instaworthy outfit of choice.
IMG_2583

Our #OOTD begins with an arm candy stack courtesy of Vita Fede. The other wrist totes a wrap watch, whose band looks like a stack of perfectly coordinating bracelets. Rebecca Minkoff’s MAB mini tote in taupe adds the perfect amount of structure to a micro bag, as a killer cost of $195. Lastly, the look is tied together with fall’s biggest trend (both on Instagram and street style everywhere): the sneaker. Whether is be athletic, a slip on, or a classic high top, sneakers are a must. What could be better than an urban, comfortable edge to complete every fall outfit?

IMG_2579

Loeffler Randal has a killer range of shoes, perfect for the downtown girl and all that she does. Just look at these ladylike, refined maroon heels, or this classic pair of booties with a walkable heel. But we’re all about these Miko sneakers at the moment. The platform gives the sneaker a little edge, while the grey toned reptile print and shearling toe subtly plays on texture. These are perfect for an easy wardrobe change, or a way to try a daring trend in a refined way. Either way, these sneakers are sure to get you some ‘likes’!
